This is a complete re-work of my previous Sega Genesis set, which I did a couple years back. Non-working dumps, duplicates, compilation carts that only featured games that were already released separately, prototypes of games that eventually saw a release (unless they contained extremely different content), versions not in English when English was available, Japanese, Taiwanese, and European versions of titles when a North American version was available, hacks, modern homebrew games, and titles not in English that require proficiency in another language to play - Those can be found in my " Sega Genesis Language Pack" here: /details/language-pack-sega-genesis-champion-collection-v2

If you're only after the actual games in this set, feel free to delete those titles named above. None of these extras are "games" in the typical sense - They contain multimedia programs, online service menus, special hardware, and Genesis applications that I believe are important to preserve. 29th, 1995)," " Sega Channel Adaptor (General Instruments)," " Sega Channel Adaptor (Scientific Atlanta)," " Sega Sound Tool (Version 2.2)," " The Miracle Piano Teaching System," and " Wacky Worlds Creativity Studio.

Download Instructions 's torrent feature wasn't designed with large collections like this in mind, so I do not recommend using it - Downloads can fail or be incomplete. However, in some ways, it was actually more powerful! It also boasted a lot of unique looking and sounding exclusives that would become cult favorites that hold even to this day. Note that there are two other Ninku games on the Game Gear published by Sega, though they are entirely different and are actually fighting games. The Sega Genesis (also known as the Sega Mega Drive) didn’t surpass its direct competitor (the Super Nintendo) in the first "Console Wars" as far as popularity, sales, or well-known titles. Since subsequent Pengo games went off in different directions, this is probably the closest that Sega ever created to a true Pengo sequel. There are brief cutscenes every once in awhile, and the scenery changes every few levels. In addition to the regular levels, where the goal is to kill all of the enemies, there are also Puzzle stages, where you need to kick blocks into a certain pattern, and Boss levels, where you need to kill a large enemy by tossing blocks at it.

You can also fart and create a toxic gas cloud, which will temporarily stun enemies. There are bumpers around the playing field, which will bounce back any kicked ice block, potentially squashing Hiroyuki if you’re not careful. It’s a much more visually attractive game.Įnemies include walruses and octopi. The playing fiels is smaller than the original Game Gear release of Pengo, since the sprites and blocks are larger. The basic gameplay is almost exactly the same, except the graphics and music are different, and you now play as Hiroyuki, the flatulent penguin. Sega created a Pengo sequel in the unlikeliest of places – as a licensed tie-in with the anime/manga Ninku.
